Its a year of change here in the Snyder household… lots of big adjustments being made. My oldest son, Nick, headed off to college last week. He is now a Freshman at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. I will miss him, but I am sooooooo proud of him! The little man, Matt, is off to middle school this morning… nervous… but excited at the same time. How on earth did my boys get so grown up so fast? I can remember when they were babies being told to “enjoy it – they grow up in the blink of an eye”. I didnt believe it when I was in the midst of diaper changes and toddler tantrums, but I am realizing now that that is so true. I love that they are growing into such wonderful young men… but at the same time I would give anything to go back and keep them little for just a while longer. *sigh*

Sorry I havent posted much lately… I’ve been having some health issues but am now well on the road to recovery and life is slowly getting back to normal. Its finally getting warmer, and we’ve had a nice string of sunny days so we’ve opened the pool and the boys have been swimming. Water’s still a bit too cold for me, but it gave me a chance to get reacquainted with my poor neglected camera! It felt SOOOOOO GOOD to shoot again!

My oldest had his senior prom this weekend! Where does the time go? Certainly I’m NOT old enough to have a child about to graduate high school????

I had a great time photographing my son, his date, and all of his friends… here’s a little peek!

My son is such a clown… but it was nice to see him ENJOY being in front of my lens for a change. Made his mom very happy!

out of commision for a while

The weather was incredible today! Bright and sunny, temps in the 60′s… I could do this every day! After a loooooong cold winter I’ve been itching to go walk the beach, and I finally got that chance today. Just me… my camera… and my lensbaby. I love my lensbaby but haven’t had a whole lot of opportunity to use it lately so this was a lot of fun for me.

Here are just a few of todays shots, taken at Point Pleasant Beach…

For those of you who care about that sort of thing, the first two are shot with my lensbaby composer and plastic optic at f4

This one is with the fisheye optic…

and these two are the double glass optic at f5.6. I love the way it adds to the rushing water feel…

I think I need to spend a lot more quality time with the lensbaby, dont ya think? Its awesome.

Funny how this worked out… my entire photographic “philosophy” if you want to call it that, has been that “every picture tells a story”. Well that’s the concept and challange behind the fabulous giveaway over at [framed]… a fabulous site dedicated to photography that broadcasts shows featuring some of the best photographers in the industry all in the name of learning and bettering (is that a word?) our industry. The giveaway this week is a year long membership to Red Leaf Studios workshop… something I have been saving my pennies for. The challenge is to post a single picture that tells a story. So here is my entry… a picture that for me surely tells the sweetest of stories…
